Love knows no bounds. It’s a universal language that everyone understands. It transcends culture, class and languages. Today, the trending ceremony is the traditional wedding of celebrated musician Akwaboah Jr. On the 3rd of May, 2024, he embarks on a journey of love with his beloved wife Theresa in a traditional wedding ceremony – an age-old marriage customs that has been passed down through generations here in Ghana.
The ceremony which is not merely a union of two souls saw the convergence of two families. At the heart of this ceremony is always the customary process of bride price payment and seeking blessings from the elders, a symbol of respect. In addition, with solemnity and grace, the groom and his bride pay homage to their roots by seeking the guidance and approval of family members and all those who came before to the ceremony.
Akwaboah adorned himself in a radiant white-colored Agbada, embellished with vibrant yellow embroidery, for his traditional wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, his bride, equally stunning, wore a red corseted Kente dress with vibrant hues of gold, blue, green and yellow each thread telling a story. The corseted design accentuated her silhouette, exuding elegance with every step she took.
